A leading engineering and manufacturing recruitment consultancy, Jonathan Lee Recruitment Ltd, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Stress Engineer to join their team in Staffordshire.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Stress Engineer to work on the development of a niche aviation vehicle. As a Mechanical Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting mechanical assessments of aircraft and engine components to ensure they meet the required life and integrity requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and analyse mechanical models of static and rotating components using 2D and 3D FEA models.
  • Work closely with the design team to optimise the performance and integrity of mechanical components across the platform.
  • Undertake technical assessments of component life and integrity through the design phase, into testing, verification, validation, certification and in-service support.

Requirements:

  • BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Relevant mechanical analysis experience.
  • FEA mechanical analysis (ANSYS) experience.
  • Good understanding of transient thermal loads in hot components and load interactions.
  • Experience in rig testing and verification (desirable).
