Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Assistant to support our finance department in day-to-day financial tasks. The successful candidate will have experience working with multiple currencies and will be responsible for performing bank and credit card reconciliations, assisting with stock records and reports, and preparing weekly payment runs and EU/UK VAT returns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations for currency accounts.
  • Assist with stock records and reports.
  • Input approved staff expenses.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs and EU/UK VAT returns.
  • Reconcile monthly sales invoices and maintain fixed asset register.
  • Perform financial due diligence on new suppliers and review outstanding POs.
  • Maintain prepayment schedules and manage product swap transactions.
  • Prepare accruals schedules and reconcile P&L and balance sheet.
  • Allocate product supplier and ancillary invoices.
  • Prepare weekly commercial reports and variance analysis.
  • Conduct financial analysis and assist in forecasting.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support the finance team in various administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Financial Assistant.
  • Experience working with multiple currencies (dollars, euros, pounds).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Strong communication skills for effective liaison with stakeholders.
  • Professional demeanor, able to handle conflict and pressure.
  • Proficiency in databases, Excel (intermediate), Word, and Sage accounts.
  • Positive attitude towards acquiring new skills and knowledge.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in a high-performing finance team.
  • Experience using Sage 50, Navision, Excel, and Word.
  • AAT Qualification.
