Job Title: Construction Environmental Advisor
Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Environmental Advisor to join our team at CV Library. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental compliance and sustainability, with experience in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with site managers and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
- Prepare comprehensive reports highlighting areas for action and positive elements of compliance.
- Implement stop works and escalate follow-up action as required.
- Monitor and close out actions raised.
- Review and improve systems of work and procedures employed by the company for recording, monitoring, and assessing environmental and sustainability standards.
- Engage with site management to discuss forthcoming works and environmental issues, including method statements, risk assessments, and procedures.
- Meet with supply chain partners to discuss environmental aspects of their works, including RAMS reviews.
- Investigate significant environmental incidents and near misses to understand root causes.
- Prepare investigation reports detailing circumstances, root causes, and recommendations for prevention.
- Maintain up-to-date environmental and sustainability documentation, including policies, aspects registers, notice boards, emergency arrangements, and permits.
- Review the Environmental Management Plan with the project team throughout the project.
- Collect and analyze environmental data for the site, including resource use, and identify trends from inspection/audit reports.
- Identify environmental and sustainability training requirements for employees.
- Participate in SHEQ meetings with the Group Head of SHEQ, Construction Director, Contracts Managers, and the SHEQ Department to discuss areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- HND/HNC/Degree level qualification in a relevant field.
- Construction experience, preferably in environmental compliance or sustainability.
- Membership of IEMA.
- Background in compliance with ISO 14001 Management Systems.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this role is approximately £55,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a competitive package that reflects the importance of this role in ensuring our company's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
