Job Title: Construction Environmental Advisor

Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Environmental Advisor to join our team at CV Library. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental compliance and sustainability, with experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct environmental inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  2. Work collaboratively with site managers and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
  3. Prepare comprehensive reports highlighting areas for action and positive elements of compliance.
  4. Implement stop works and escalate follow-up action as required.
  5. Monitor and close out actions raised.
  6. Review and improve systems of work and procedures employed by the company for recording, monitoring, and assessing environmental and sustainability standards.
  7. Engage with site management to discuss forthcoming works and environmental issues, including method statements, risk assessments, and procedures.
  8. Meet with supply chain partners to discuss environmental aspects of their works, including RAMS reviews.
  9. Investigate significant environmental incidents and near misses to understand root causes.
  10. Prepare investigation reports detailing circumstances, root causes, and recommendations for prevention.
  11. Maintain up-to-date environmental and sustainability documentation, including policies, aspects registers, notice boards, emergency arrangements, and permits.
  12. Review the Environmental Management Plan with the project team throughout the project.
  13. Collect and analyze environmental data for the site, including resource use, and identify trends from inspection/audit reports.
  14. Identify environmental and sustainability training requirements for employees.
  15. Participate in SHEQ meetings with the Group Head of SHEQ, Construction Director, Contracts Managers, and the SHEQ Department to discuss areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. HND/HNC/Degree level qualification in a relevant field.
  2. Construction experience, preferably in environmental compliance or sustainability.
  3. Membership of IEMA.
  4. Background in compliance with ISO 14001 Management Systems.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is approximately £55,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a competitive package that reflects the importance of this role in ensuring our company's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
