Job Overview:

As a Mechanical Systems Development Manager at BAE Systems, you will play a key role in the delivery of mechanical systems for the SSNA Programme. You will be responsible for leading multiple sub-teams comprising of talented Senior and Principal Engineers to develop and deliver various mechanical systems/equipment.

Salary: Competitive salary range: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop design solutions to meet project or business milestones
  • Understand contractual and performance requirements for various systems
  • Lead teams to produce documentation required to support design review process
  • Ensure design proving and contractual evidence is comprehensive
  • Undertake design presentations to customers and suppliers
  • Review relevant supplier documentation and ensure it is captured and recorded appropriately

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in mechanical systems development
  • Comprehensive experience applying technical expertise across engineering lifecycle
  • Knowledge specifying mechanical equipment and components (heat exchangers, pumps, diesel generators, hydraulic plant, compressors, etc)
  • BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in relevant STEM degree
  • CEng or capable of achieving CEng
  • Recognised leadership qualification appropriate to level of responsibility
