About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at TeacherActive. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a primary or secondary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and other school staff, fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring students receive tailored support.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to identify and address student needs, promoting a holistic approach to education.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEND, preferably in a primary or secondary setting.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in education or a related field, or a minimum of 6 months' experience in an educational establishment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicating with students, teachers, and other staff.
