Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our fast-paced maintenance team, supporting cutting-edge production lines and advanced manufacturing systems in the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, including BMS, HVAC, pneumatics, fire suppression, CNC machines, dynos, conveyors, and welding equipment.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on various machinery, providing quick and effective responses to minimize production disruption.
  3. Undertake routine inspections and repairs of specialist equipment, including autoclaves, CNC machines, and robotic systems.
  4. Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring faults, enhancing asset performance and reliability.
  5. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  6. Offer technical guidance and training to junior technicians and colleagues.
  7. Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement activities, using lean manufacturing techniques such as TPM and 5S to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  1. A recognized, time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering maintenance or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in fault diagnosis, maintenance planning, and implementation within an industrial environment.
  3. Familiarity with automated systems, robotics, and control systems such as Allen-Bradley PLCs (desirable).
  4. Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, including the ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
  5. A team player with a collaborative, flexible attitude and willingness to cover out-of-hours shifts or race weekends (on a rota basis).
  6. A commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
