Job Summary

The Machine Technician will be responsible for ensuring that moulding machines run to specification and containers are produced to customer requirements. This role involves minimizing downtime and scrap levels, as well as maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure moulding machines and ancillary equipment are in good working order and report any defects to supervision.
  • Conduct regular checks on product quality and filling in relevant paperwork.
  • Remove, clean, refit, realign or carry out other necessary adjustments to parts of moulding machines.
  • Ensure raw material supplies are constant and report to supervision if a fresh bin is not available.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness at all times.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
  • Preferably mechanical engineering experience/knowledge.
  • Previous experience of operating/running machinery – training provided on specific ALPLA machinery.
  • Exposure to plastic manufacturing process would be highly advantageous.
  • Good communication skills.
