DP World is seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead our mechanical and electrical engineering needs across the Coventry site. As a hands-on specialist, you will support and manage a team of engineers in their daily tasks, providing expert guidance and resolving queries.

About the Role:

  • Support the leadership of the system maintenance engineering team.
  • Provide expert guidance to engineers as an escalation point to resolve queries and support with learning and understanding.
  • Complete manufacturing/production line tasks as requested or identified and record/report activities and/or actions in appropriate databases or related systems.
  • Accountable for the performance of the automated warehouse equipment, including AMR, ASRS, and sorters.
  • Work closely with engineering team management, launch, and operational teams as part of the new solutions development process.
  • Ensure all planned preventative maintenance schedules are completed within agreed timescales to a high standard.
  • Support the presentation of technical improvements to customers through proposals, conference calls, and presentations in conjunction with account management.
  • Act as an interface between regional functions and all other areas of the business as required.
  • Ensure the engineering function is aligned with operations teams and other support functions.
  • Translate high-level operational briefs/objectives into defined solution proposals and progress, deploying them into live operations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of regional and local initiatives.
  • Complete new MTM/MOST process assessments or update existing processes as required.
  • Ensure clear and quantifiable data is available to show contribution to business made by individuals and functions.
  • Act as a trouble-shooter when required, identifying pinch points or problem areas, ensuring root cause analysis is completed where appropriate, and corrective measures are implemented into operations.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience in senior maintenance engineering roles supporting and leading staff across multiple shift patterns on automated warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Ability to empathize and understand client viewpoints and requirements, acting as their champion within the engineering function.
  • Ability to interpret data and derive solid conclusions from analysis.
  • Highly developed computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and Project Management software, with proficiency in using AutoCAD to design functional workings of solutions in 3D and 2D formats.
