Job Title: Support Mentor for Young People

Location: Plymouth/ Millbrook

Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:

We are seeking a Support Mentor for Young People to join our team at ROC College. As a Support Mentor, you will work with young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Your role will be to provide person-centred, community-based teaching and learning, supporting students to develop life skills in a variety of community settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and mentor individuals within ROC College
  • Assess student progress and outcomes
  • Help to provide accredited learning based on a personalised curriculum
  • Travel across the community with students to learning hubs, libraries, workplaces, and leisure facilities

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with individuals with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Patient, supportive, and enthusiastic approach
  • Ability to use creativity and initiative to provide accessible education content
  • Flexibility to travel across the community with students
