Job Title: Control Systems Specialist

At Morson Talent, we are seeking an experienced Control Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our automation and control sector, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting detailed tenders for automation and control projects. This role requires strong knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, Panels, Industrial Communication, and Networking.

About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive individual who is comfortable with tender writing, tender pricing, and conducting site surveys. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of various fields, including instrumentation, electrical, or control systems. A valid UK driving license and the right to work in the UK are also essential requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit detailed and competitive tenders for automation and control projects.
• Analyse and interpret technical specifications and requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to gather necessary information for tender submissions.
• Develop cost estimates and pricing strategies.
• Conduct site surveys to gather project-specific information.
• Manage the ITT (Invitation to Tender) and RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and ensure competitive pricing.
• Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and suppliers.
• Monitor and track tender progress, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Provide post-tender support and clarification to clients as needed.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the automation and controls industry.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, Panels, Industrial Communication, and Networking.
• Familiarity with equipment from Siemens, Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, Omron, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Background in instrumentation, electrical, or control systems.
• Valid UK driving license and the right to work in the UK.
• Preferably with an HNC/HND in a Control Systems related field, or a degree in a similar field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Comfortable with the ITT and RFQ processes.
• Willingness to travel for site surveys and client meetings.
