About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Sweco UK, working on exciting projects for the Anglian Water @one Alliance. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and design solutions for water and wastewater systems, working closely with a multi-disciplinary project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of key mechanical options, ensuring risks and gaps are mitigated and the Project Basis of Design is upheld.
  • Design calculations for mechanical, hydraulic, power generating, and building services equipment.
  • Liaise with the supply chain to assess and understand the latest technologies as part of the optioneering process.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop 3D models and solutions.
  • Oversee the outputs for processes including P&IDs, data sheets, HAZID and HAZOP studies, and mechanical input into commissioning plans.
  • Support the team in driving excellence in Health & Safety, demonstrating applied knowledge and skills to produce safe designs.
  • Identify and promote opportunities to meet project digital, sustainability, innovation, and people objectives.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will hold a minimum of a HND or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline and have extensive practical mechanical design experience in a similar environment. You will possess a good understanding of modular build and construction processes and procedures, as well as broad knowledge of electrical control, instrumentation, and switchgear equipment and suppliers.

You will be a collaborative and integrated team player, aware of how your work impacts colleagues and customers. With accountability and integrity, you will take personal responsibility and showcase strong teamwork skills to assist in meeting project timelines. You will also be willing to safely try new approaches and processes, utilising new technologies to drive efficiencies.
