Job Description

The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is seeking a highly skilled Policy Development Specialist to join their Directorate of Strategy and MPS Oversight.

This exciting opportunity will allow you to lead on specific policy areas relating to crime types or policing functions, providing clear advice and briefings direct to senior officials and political principles, and working collaboratively across MOPAC, the GLA, and wider partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing evidence-based policies to tackle crime and improve policing in London;
  • Providing expert advice and briefings to senior officials and politicians on policy matters;
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across MOPAC, the GLA, and wider partnerships to drive policy development and implementation;
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in policy development and implementation;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including a civil service pension and flexible working arrangements.
