At DMC Healthcare, we are seeking an exceptional Dermatology Consultant to join our team.


The successful candidate will have a strong background in dermatology, with the ability to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to our patients.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent clinical care in dermatology, adhering to GMC standards and the [GMS/PMS/APMS] contract.
  • Collaborate with the dermatology department and broader general practice team to ensure effective management of the practice.
  • Engage in dermatology clinics, offering expert guidance to general practitioners and performing dermatological procedures and surgeries as necessary.
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive clinical records for dermatological treatments.
  • Participate in dermatology quality improvement initiatives, staying up to date with the latest developments in the field and implementing best practices.
  • Lead dermatology quality improvement initiatives within the practice, contributing to the development and maintenance of dermatological services.
  • Engage in dermatology-related practice meetings, reviewing and adhering to dermatology-specific protocols and policies.
  • Participate in dermatology audits, contributing to the development and maintenance of dermatological services.
  • Engage in local initiatives to enhance dermatological service delivery and patient care.

Requirements

  • Possession of a medical degree alongside a recognised specialist qualification in Dermatology.
  • Full GMC Registration and Inclusion on the National Performers List.
  • Active registration with the General Medical Council and listing on the National Performers List.
  • Proven capability in performing dermatological procedures and surgeries, along with expertise in dermatological pharmacotherapy.
  • Extensive experience in dermatology outpatient settings, offering diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in dermatology.
  • Outstanding dermatology-specific clinical skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Continuous Professional Development in Dermatology.
  • Involvement in dermatological research or education.
  • Familiarity with the Quality and Outcomes Framework and clinical audit experience, especially in dermatology.
  • Successful completion of a DBS check.
  • Required occupational health clearance confirming fitness for clinical practice.
  • Experience of ICB Initiatives, demonstrating an understanding of integrated care systems and experience in collaborative work across different healthcare sectors.
  • Involvement in the education and supervision of medical students, junior doctors, or nursing staff in dermatology.
