About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team at B&M Retail Ltd. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role in providing effective and efficient support in our Buying department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily direct delivery paint orders, POS, and associated store queries
  • Key in price changes and minimum stock levels for promotions
  • Assist the Senior Buyer in product selection, including Wallpaper
  • Eventually responsible for some of your own sub-categories
  • Manage the critical path, chasing samples and relevant paperwork, approval of pre-shipment images, and processing shipping documents with accuracy
  • Manage product setup and order placement, creating codes, updating product information, communicating with suppliers, and the Merchandising team
  • Liaise with Far East and UK suppliers, following up from supplier meetings and range reviews
  • Create artwork briefs for own-label products
  • Liaise with marketing, social media, and the web team to provide samples and relevant information to highlight DIY products
  • Sample management

Requirements:

  • Currently in a Buying Assistant or Assistant Buyer role looking for additional responsibilities and development
  • Creative eye for detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong Excel experience is essential
  • Computer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft systems, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
