About the RoleThe Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will be responsible for establishing and maintaining communication with patients and relatives, communicating sensitive and complex information in a highly emotive atmosphere. They will also be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs of care, actively participating in team nursing and the development of nursing responsibilities for individual patients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the shift, liaising with doctors and the multi-disciplinary team
- Manage a team of staff, including PDR, sickness absence, and training
- Administer chemotherapy and take charge of the Acute Oncology Helpline
- Assess the health and wellbeing of people with complex needs, making judgements using highly specialist skills
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate programs to address peoples health and wellbeing needs

Person SpecificationEssential qualifications include being a Registered Nurse on sub part 1 or 2 of the professional register, having a First degree or willingness to undertake, and evidence of continuing education. A Mentorship qualification and specific speciality related qualification/equivalent experience are also required.
