Commercial Project Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Project Accountant to join our client's team in Shoreham - By - Sea. As a key member of the finance team, you will play a crucial role in providing financial support and strategic decision-making for large programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports on project performance, including forecasts, budgets, and actual results.
  • Conduct variance analysis and highlight key risks and opportunities to project stakeholders and senior management.
  • Support the development of financial models for project cost and working capital management.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and maintain rolling forecasts.
  • Monitor and control project costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Act as a financial business partner to project managers and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide financial insights to drive strategic decision-making for project execution.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant - ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a project accountant, preferably in a commercial role.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Sound understanding of balance sheet, profit & loss, and cash flow statements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to key stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
  • Background experience within a manufacturing or engineering organisation.
  • Experience working in a PLC.
  • Sound technical finance capabilities (IFRS) together with operational and commercial expertise.
