As an Oncology Referral Coordinator Specialist with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care and support throughout their journey with us.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as an Oncology Referral Coordinator Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to our clinical teams, working closely with patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage new referrals, tracking and booking first appointments efficiently and effectively.
  • Liaise with staff at all levels, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Engage and communicate with patients on a daily basis, providing them with accurate information and guidance regarding their care.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage changing priorities in a calm and professional manner.
  • Utilise MS software, data collection skills, and previous knowledge of working in a relevant hospital-based role to ensure efficient service delivery.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications, successful completion of relevant NHS apprenticeship programme, NVQ2 in Customer Service or Medical Administration, or substantial previous experience in an NHS Band 2 administrative role.
  • Previous experience of working in a customer service environment, dealing with a range of information, and accurate data entry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, basic keyboard skills, and IT literacy, particularly Excel.
  • Self-motivation, productivity without constant supervision, excellent interpersonal skills, understanding of confidentiality, awareness of NHS access targets and associated policies.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at around £28,000 - £31,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and training opportunities.
