Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Asset Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in the large-scale UK solar industry and a strong knowledge of LV, HV, DC, photovoltaic, and BESS technology.

Key Responsibilities

The Renewable Energy Asset Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress, ensuring regular updates are provided to clients and management via MS Excel, utilizing features such as pivot tables, filtering, graphs, trend lines, and formulas.
  • Participating in regular meetings with O&Ms, clients, and QE teams to ensure alignment of objectives and effective communication between stakeholders.
  • Providing technical support to other team members by addressing their queries/requests for projects managed by the specialist, reviewing the correct execution of works performed by O&Ms, or any standard PV problem.
  • Coordinating with contractors and subcontractors regarding the implementation of H&S measures established by advisors in line with national regulations and industry standards.
  • Managing mandatory electrical installation inspections required by authorities.
  • Liaising with contractors to follow up on completion of punch lists arising from contractual tests (e.g. PAC, IAC, FAC).
Site Visits and Inspections

The role requires regular scheduled and un-scheduled site visits to inspect plants thoroughly. The ideal candidate should be able to provide proof of previous experience performing tasks such as:

  • Carrying out high-quality site inspections with an in-depth focus on key components – both electrical and mechanical – to maintain full production and generating capacity.
  • Due diligence and methodical approach to identify potential weaknesses which may lead to loss of generation or premature failure.
  • Verification of AC / DC test results.
  • Ability to read and understand SLDs.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Energy or Electrical Engineering, equivalent to 2:1 or higher.
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • Five years' minimum experience in the Renewable Energy sector, including site inspections (ideally PV and BESS).
  • Strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Medium-High level of Microsoft Office, especially regarding Excel, Word, and PPT.
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the UK with overnight stays when required.
Estimated Salary

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
