Metadata Management Engineer

Location: Leeds, UK

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum

We are seeking a skilled Metadata Management Engineer to join our team at the University of Leeds. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a sustainable service that manages the discovery, usability, management, and preservation of Special Collections metadata and digital collections.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in scripting languages such as PHP, Python, or Perl, with a strong understanding of LAMP stack development. Familiarity with digital asset management and digital scholarship is also desirable. You will work closely with Library and IT colleagues to lead the managed development of systems, designing and implementing new tools or integrating existing tools with new technologies to deliver a seamless resource discovery experience for users.

This role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be working in a dynamic environment, prioritising tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
