Accounting Support Professional

Paying up to £15.00 per hour, this accounting support professional role involves providing assistance to the finance team in a variety of tasks.

The Job Description

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assisting the finance manager in preparing annual budgets.
  • Working collaboratively with other teams to ensure accurate coding and monitoring of sinking fund accounts.
  • Preparing and reconciling pre-payments and accruals.
  • Making manual journal postings.
  • Supporting month-end close-off tasks and reports as required.
  • Updating cash flow and supporting the finance manager in providing actual figures/forecasts.
  • Reviewing VAT allocations monthly and preparing quarterly VAT returns for review.
  • Collating all data and changes in preparation for the monthly payroll process.
  • Monitoring contracts database and ensuring relevant information is provided by managers.
  • Supporting and covering for the purchase and sales ledger role within the finance team.
  • Overseeing bank reconciliation and reporting month-end close.
The Requirements

This role would suit someone who is either part-qualified, an AAT student, or a QBE, with strong working knowledge of accounts, preferably within a property or housing environment, although this is not essential. You must have excellent Excel skills, be organized with good attention to detail, and have the ability to work under pressure. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are also essential.
