Job Function:

ArcelorMittal is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Expert to support the development and deployment of Corporate Mining Technical Standards and Safety Guidelines. This role aims to define maintenance strategies, policies, and guidelines for all mining operations, focusing on reducing risks associated with operational and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong Process Safety Management system in place and a deep understanding of mining best practices.

The function includes standardizing maintenance processes across all mining units, continuously seeking innovations and best industry practices, and participating in benchmarking activities. The job holder will be involved in all aspects of strategic maintenance projects, from planning to execution, and will ensure that technical corporate standards are optimally implemented across ArcelorMittal mining operations.

This role also includes providing guidance, technical expertise, and training to unit management teams, as well as sharing knowledge through communities of practices. The job holder will encourage, foster, and lead by example on Health & Safety and Environmental aspects as a Group number 1 priority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage, foster, and lead by example on Health & Safety and Environmental aspects as Group number 1 priority.
  • Support mining operations in ensuring safe maintenance practices in line with Corporate Process Safety and Technical Standards, Guidelines, and Policies.
  • Seek innovative solutions to increase safety, minimize risks, comply with regulations, and optimize maintenance practices.
  • Implement a Process Safety Management program supporting maintenance and operational activities.
  • Deliver a Maintenance Framework, strategies, policies, and guidelines for the mining group.
  • Assess gaps or deviations between company standards and operative procedures at different mining sites.
  • Organize internal peer reviews/external assessments for ArcelorMittal mining assets in accordance with governance requirements.
  • Share maintenance best practices through internal and external networks and promote knowledge exchange within the group.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for capital requests related to maintenance activities.
  • Support the implementation of software solutions and technologies to enhance, modernize, and standardize maintenance practices within mining operations.
  • Promote high-performance culture and build open, genuine, and sustainable relationships with stakeholders.

Profile of Job Holder:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in Engineering, including project engineering and project management.
  • PSM training or certification.
  • Ability to implement and drive safe working practices.
  • Strong PSM experience.
  • Extended experience in mining operations with both mobile and fixed equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mining best industry practices and ability to transform knowledge into a structured process of improvement through standardization and collaboration.
  • Knowledgeable in continuous improvement methodologies, assets, and maintenance planning.
  • Experience in commissioning and start-up of new equipment.
  • Track record of successful innovations and safety initiatives.
  • Experience in diverse, inclusive, and dynamic work environments.
