This is a skilled mechanical and electrical position that requires the postholder to be fully qualified to BS 7671 Edition and have basic plumbing and mechanical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, fault finding, and repair on all building services and systems as directed by the Technical Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will have previous facilities management experience and be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. A flexible approach to work is essential, as the successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and COSHH laws or regulations.
- Complete suitable risk assessments for reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
- Maintain equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures connected to the mechanical and electrical systems.
- Electrical competency - BS 7671 Edition is essential.
- Electrical Inspection and Testing is desirable.
- Be able to undertake general Mechanical PPM and Reactive tasks, including general Plumbing duties.
- Diagnose faults on equipment and repair as necessary.
- Delivery of small works projects as instructed by the Technical Supervisor.
- Ensure that all repairs and installations are compliant with current regulations.
- Assist in project hand-over and 'snagging' of new installations.
- Carry out a daily building walk to ensure any faults are reported and rectified within SLA.
- Support the management team in monitoring services and suppliers.
- Liaise with the Customer Service Centre to ensure appropriate response to planned and reactive tasks.
- Participate in an Emergency Call Out service as required.
Person Specification:
