At Recruit 4 Talent, we are seeking a highly skilled Production Planner to join our team in Bilston, West Midlands. The Role:

As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring that products are produced on time and at the lowest possible cost. You will work closely with the Production Manager to maintain and manage the scheduling system, review customer orders and accounts, and liaise with Sales to determine customer requirements.

You will also be responsible for approving materials, costs, manufacturing equipment, and the size of the workforce needed to manufacture. Additionally, you will participate in the development of operating plans and monthly forecasting, communicate and explain manufacturing performance, and extract, organise, analyse, and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintaining and managing the scheduling system daily to support Production Managers
  2. Reviewing customer orders and accounts to support accurate and timely submission of financial information
  3. Liaising with Sales to determine customer requirements
  4. Approving materials, costs, manufacturing equipment, and the size of workforce needed to manufacture
  5. Participating in the development of operating plans and monthly forecasting
  6. Communicating and explaining manufacturing performance
  7. Extracting, organising, analysing, and reporting data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions
  8. Receiving and communicating, in a timely fashion, orders to production, assessing their ability to fulfil the orders
  9. Generating and producing a production plan
  10. Communicating with customers in relation to BBQ orders and thereafter to check with production that these orders are being fulfilled
  11. Advising customer of figures at the end of day
  12. Collecting and assessing data about production and team's performance
  13. Preparing reports about production processes for upper management and suggesting ways to improve efficiency
  14. Developing broad technical and communication skills through self-study, internal and external training opportunities
  15. Any other reasonable duties which may be required from management from time to time
The Successful Candidate:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Production Planner who can demonstrate:

  1. 3 years' experience in Production Planning within a busy manufacturing environment
  2. 5 GCSEs Grade C passes to include English and Maths or equivalent
  3. General knowledge of costing, budgeting, and financial information
  4. Basic accounting methods and logic
  5. Excellent organisational, planning, and administrative abilities
  6. Strong Excel skills with the ability to collate and present data, and high level of proficiency using PC spreadsheets
  7. Solid computer skills (Microsoft; Excel; etc) and general systems knowledge
  8. Determination to see jobs through to completion
  9. Ability to analyse and evaluate data
  10. Ability to work on own initiative
  11. Ability to conduct problem identification and give recommendations
  12. Ability to support and foster teamwork for projects
  13. Solid analytical skills (logical through process, reasonability, timeliness)
  14. Proven ability to prioritise objectives and duties
  15. Good time management skills
  16. Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
  17. Professional attitude with flexible approach to work and availability for overtime when required
