About the Opportunity

Kent County Council is looking for a skilled Business Support Assistant to join our team in the Ashford District. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting families and young people across the district, providing administrative assistance to Family Hub Workers and ensuring that all services are delivered to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will have a calm and organized approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and friendly demeanor.

This role involves a range of responsibilities, including greeting and welcoming families, signposting them to relevant services, and supporting Health & Safety processes. The successful candidate will be required to act confidently as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and partners in this multi-agency environment.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £23,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays. You will also have access to a generous contributory pension scheme and opportunities for training and development within the service.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide administrative support to Family Hub Workers, including greeting and welcoming families, and signposting them to relevant services
  2. Act confidently as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and partners in this multi-agency environment
  3. Support Health & Safety processes and report and monitor any building faults
  4. Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and friendly demeanor
