Public Health Principal Job Description

**Role Overview**

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Public Health Principal to lead on the delivery of the public health workplan for babies, children, and young people (BCYP). The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working within a public health team covering BCYP and will be able to hit the ground running.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Develop an action plan for the Council's BCYP strategy and monitor its impact
* Lead on the development and implementation of an infant feeding strategy, working across the system to increase breast feeding rates
* Lead on healthy start, oral health, and healthy weight initiatives for babies, children, and young people
* Develop and manage relationships with primary care to improve partnership working and coordination on the health of BCYP

**Requirements**

* Previous experience at Public Health Principal level or similar covering BCYP
* A Master's or degree in Public Health would be beneficial but is not essential
