Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Highway Design Engineer to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a Senior or Principal Highway Engineer, you will play a key role in the growth of our highways division.

About the Role

  • Design and lead major highway projects, from conception through to completion, while managing 2-3 schemes at a time and mentoring junior staff.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality projects, including active travel schemes, urban developments, and highway improvements.
  • Expand on your expertise and influence others to progress further as you lead your own team.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and contractors, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of UK highway design consultancy experience.
  • Strong design experience across a range of highways projects, including active travel, urban development, S278/38 schemes, junction design, and VRS.
  • AutoCAD and Civil3D software experience.
