Job Summary:

As a Product Safety Engineer (m/f/d) within the hazardous location (HAZLOC)/explosion protection team, you will engage in various projects and deliver high-quality certification services tailored to our clients' needs. You will have the capability to interpret standards, adhere to processes and procedures, and provide technical support to clients and colleagues.

Candidates should possess experience in this field and be knowledgeable about relevant standards such as the IEC 60079 series, the IECEx Scheme, the ATEX Directive, and ideally, the North American certification process. CSA Group will provide training on new protection concepts and assist you in advancing your professional career. You will have the chance to collaborate with clients worldwide, helping to certify their products by reviewing prototypes, samples, drawings, schematics, and reports to ensure full compliance with IEC/EN and North American Standards.

Successful candidates will be customer-oriented and have a background in manufacturing, processes, or compliance evaluation. Strong communication, change management, problem-solving, and project management skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

Oversee multiple certification projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to all relevant safety requirements. Achieve project completion within established timelines and quality benchmarks. Consistently manage several projects at once while maintaining on-time and on-budget performance. Review testing data and reports, authorizing the issuance of Certification Marks. Prepare and/or sign Certification Reports and Certificates of Compliance. Demonstrate an understanding of the processes and accreditation requirements for reports and certification documents. Collaborate with customers during the design phase to ensure compliance with national and international standards. Identify applicable requirements, tests, and standards. Determine sample requirements for testing. Prepare Test Lab Work Orders and Special Testing Documentation, detailing relevant standards, test sample plans, data collection methods, and tables. Provide necessary guidance to Lab Technicians to ensure the correct application of requirements. Conduct on-site assessments and/or testing at clients' locations. Travel to other Group or client facilities, both domestically and internationally, may be required.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering 10 years of relevant experience Experience in circuit analysis and IEC/EN is advantageous Background in Product Certification, Product Compliance, Product Approval, and manufacturing
