About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Biffa in Edmonton. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant and machinery to ensure optimal performance.

The successful candidate will have limited mechanical experience but a strong desire to learn and grow within the company. We offer comprehensive training and development opportunities to support your career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and repairing plant and machinery to minimize downtime
  • Carrying out problem-solving activities to identify faults and rectify them
  • Working collaboratively with the engineering team to achieve maintenance objectives
  • Participating in Root Cause Analysis activities to identify causes of failures and implement corrective actions
  • Identifying potential faults and improvement opportunities to prevent future failures

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles and practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software applications
