At Biffa Waste Services Limited, we're looking for a skilled Transportation Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our depot's operations.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for allocating and routing vehicles to ensure best-in-class service delivery to customers. They will also be expected to maintain health and safety standards, environmental compliance, and O-licence requirements. Additionally, they will support employee engagement and continuous improvement in productivity and quality of service provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the allocation and basic routing of vehicles to ensure optimal service delivery
  • Maintain health and safety standards, environmental compliance, and O-licence requirements
  • Support employee engagement and continuous improvement in productivity and quality of service provision
  • Perform administrative duties including pay and bonus input, disposal information, and vehicle management
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a similar position in services or logistics
  • Management experience in a labour-intensive, multi-shift environment
  • Local geographical knowledge
  • First-line operational management experience
  • Excellent communication, planning, and interpersonal skills
