Job Description: MFL Teacher Required

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teacher to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in the local area. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning opportunities across Key Stages 3 & 4, with a focus on developing students' receptive and productive skills in the Spanish language.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging MFL lessons that provide students with meaningful opportunities to develop their language skills, with a focus on developing their receptive and productive skills in the Spanish language.
  2. Assessment and Feedback: Conduct regular formative and summative assessments, maintaining accurate records of outcomes for reporting and analysis.
  3. Classroom Management: Manage classroom behavior effectively through the consistent use of the school's behavior policy.
  4. Wider Professional Responsibilities: Engage and actively participate in wider professional responsibilities such as lunchtime duty, parents' evenings, and transition open evenings as required by the school.
Qualification Requirements
  • A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a focus on MFL is highly advantageous.
  • A degree in Spanish / Hispanic Studies or a related field with a strong understanding of effective approaches to language teaching and acquisition.
  • Proven experience as a Secondary MFL teacher with a successful track record of student achievement is advantageous.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain.
  • Two satisfactory references.

The estimated salary for this role is around £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
