Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Orthotist to fill the role of Clinical Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our clinical team and providing mentoring support to less experienced orthotists, graduates, and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Ensure the clinical team meets targets and is engaged with company objectives.
    • Attend resource meetings with the Regional Clinical and Operational Lead, assist as a point of contact when the Regional Clinical and Operational Lead is on leave.
  • Patient Care
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care for all patients and the smooth running of our services.
  • Mentorship and Development
    • Support, develop, and mentor less experienced orthotists, graduates, and students. Help coordinate and contribute to in-service training sessions.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Build and maintain a good working relationship with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs).
    • Be a direct clinical escalation point to the NHS management.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Report on regional clinical activities to the senior management team, advising any relevant issues to the Regional Clinical and Operational Lead.
  • Service Development
    • Advance the delivery of the orthotics service by embracing evidence-based medicine and the results of clinical audit in line with the requirements of clinical governance.
    • Support and contribute to Opcare services by contributing to our national care pathways, protocols, and leadership on orthotics.
  • Technology and Innovation
    • Work with the Regional Clinical and Operational Lead and production teams to provide excellent orthotic devices as prescribed.
    • Lead on the use of newer technology and innovations, such as systems and 3D print, to improve service delivery.
  • Knowledge Sharing
    • Share your knowledge and experience with junior colleagues and offer mentorship to graduates.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Certified Orthotist, or HND Orthotics.
  • Full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
