Battery Systems Department Opportunity

Williams Advanced Engineering is seeking an exceptional candidate to support the delivery of battery test & sign off activities across all electrification programmes at WAE. The successful candidate will be an integral team member supporting an incredible and diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and maintain test procedure documentation, including Battery Module & Pack level electrical test activity.
  • Engage with relevant engineering teams to collate relevant inputs.
  • Determine test requirements, assist with test setup, and run test activity.
  • Identify issues during testing and help resolve them.
  • Review test data and use automated scripts to create reports.
  • Collate all data/reports and maintain tracker documentation.
  • Identify issues with results and report to relevant teams.
  • Determine limitations to test procedures/activities and look for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with state-of-the-art cell technology.
  • Work in line with WAE HAV safe procedures of work.
  • Identify test equipment needs and maintain existing equipment.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels of WAE as required.
  • Represent WAE externally at external test house locations.

Requirements:
  • A relevant qualification in Electrical or Automotive Engineering with relevant work experience.
  • A hands-on engineering approach.
  • Knowledge of key battery technologies.
  • Experience in setting up and supporting battery test activity.
  • Some level of experience in battery data analysis using tools such as MATLAB, CANalyser, Atlas, or equivalent.
  • Experience diagnosing issues during the running of test activity and implementing solutions.
  • General familiarity with HV battery systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ideally, a driver's license for supporting test activity at multiple locations.
