Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Emotional Mental Health Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Qualiteach Ltd. As a specialist Pupil Referral Unit, we cater to 60 children of secondary ages who have struggled to access mainstream education.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be supporting students of secondary ages who primarily have a diagnosis of social, emotional mental health. Many of the students have a secondary diagnosis of ASD and many students have other complex needs. Due to the high level of SEN, you must have worked in a SEN setting previously.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
  • Work with challenging behaviors and develop strategies to manage them
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop individualized education plans
  • Provide one-to-one support and small group work to students
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
  • Strong understanding of SEN and the needs of students with complex needs
  • Ability to work with challenging behaviors and develop strategies to manage them
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment
