Job Title: ALN Teaching Assistant

Location: Newport

Job Type: Temporary

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 – 15:30

Pay: Minimum £12.90ph

We are seeking a strong, resilient and patient teaching assistant to support a class in a partnership school based in Newport. The classroom is a dedicated workspace for children with severe ASD and some with behavioural issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Support a small class of pupils with Additional Learning Needs
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff and parents and provide social and emotional support
  • Create a positive and caring, safe environment for the pupils to thrive
  • Adhere to school's safeguarding and protection policies
  • Strong teamwork with fellow Teachers and Teaching Assistants

Requirements:

  • Registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Hold a Child only DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System
  • Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months
