About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join our site services team, where you will be responsible for developing our newly released Android Sports Native App alongside our award-winning website.

As a key member of our software development function, you will work collaboratively with a growing team of talented developers to deliver high-quality user interfaces, interactivity, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and assist junior team members in their development journey.
  • Design and develop complex feature-rich applications for the Android platform.
  • Maintain and improve existing systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • Investigate and resolve live system issues, working closely with the team to find solutions.
  • Perform quality assurance of peer code, ensuring it meets our high standards.
  • Implement unit tests to improve and maintain app quality.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our codebases and processes, driving continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in writing code using Kotlin or Java in Android Studio.
  • Proven working experience with modern Android libraries and APIs.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  • Experience with unit testing, including testing frameworks such as Espresso.
  • Understanding of advanced source control concepts and tooling.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, Chrome Web Inspector, or Android WebView APIs.
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
  • Ability to debug and address memory and performance issues.
  • Previous experience in a senior role, providing mentorship and leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills.
