About the Role



Provide tailored support to Key Stage 2 pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and other associated learning difficulties as a Teaching Assistant in a specialist primary setting. Assist with classroom activities, foster a nurturing learning environment, and collaborate with teachers to create effective learning plans. Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being, and forge relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

- Provide 1:1 support to Key Stage 2 pupils with SEMH and other associated learning difficulties.

- Assist with classroom activities and tasks.

- Foster a nurturing and encouraging learning environment.

- Monitor and track the progress of students.

- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to create effective learning plans.

- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

- Forge and develop relationships with pupils.

Requirements

- A passion for working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and a desire to contribute to their development.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Relevant experience in a special educational needs or care setting supporting children with additional needs is desirable.

- Level 2, 3 or 4 teaching assistant qualifications or relevant degree honours are highly advantageous.

- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
