About the Role
The Head of Procurement and Supply Chain Management will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing end-to-end category strategies, driving value for money and challenging existing practices. As a leader in procurement, you will have the opportunity to develop and deliver specific category plans and commercial strategies that ensure fit-for-purpose and sustainable sourcing and supply chains across the Sainsbury's Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commercial strategies within the Property, Construction, or Facilities Management sectors.
- Lead complex commercial activities, participate in cross-functional teams, and negotiate and manage contracts with key suppliers.
- Build and maintain successful relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a business partner and providing valuable insights and perspectives to support challenging commercial strategies.
- Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, coaching and motivating them to achieve their objectives and contribute to the advancement of the Procurement and Supplier Management function.
Requirements
- An accomplished procurement professional with extensive experience in developing and executing commercial strategies.
- Deep understanding of external supply markets and emerging trends.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior management.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
- Critical thinking abilities and the ability to prioritise conflicting programmes.
