Higher Level Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant to provide crucial support across both learning and pastoral areas in a dynamic and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning Support: Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons, supporting students with varied learning needs, and helping to implement individual education plans.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide support and guidance to students, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and addressing any social or emotional issues.
  • Behaviour Management: Assist in maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement in the classroom, implementing strategies to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Administrative Duties: Help with preparing resources, tracking student progress, and contributing to the development of educational materials.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: HLTA status or equivalent qualification. A Level 4 or above qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a similar field, is essential.
  • Experience: Significant experience working in an educational setting, ideally with secondary school students. Experience in both learning support and pastoral care is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the curriculum and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs and managing classroom behaviour.
  • Commitment: A passion for supporting students' educational and emotional development, with a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
