Job OverviewAbout the Role

In this challenging and rewarding position as an Electrical Design and Project Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing electrical systems designs for marine and power generation applications. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with project managers, technical leads, and power systems and power electronics teams to deliver projects that meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate electrical systems to meet customer specifications and requirements.
  • Create detailed circuit diagrams using E-Plan and electrical equipment 2D layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Manage and maintain parts and Bill of Materials (BoMs) in Siemens Teamcenter PLM system.
  • Act as a principal point of contact for the electrical design aspects of project execution, providing clear guidance to other engineering teams on design requirements, supporting the manufacturing of our equipment, and procuring electrical parts and assemblies.
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing and support the quality function in resolving customer issues and identifying root causes.
  • Ensure that Design for Manufacture and Assembly techniques are implemented in the design process.
  • Participate in technical reviews of designs, providing support for problem resolution and ensuring all designs incorporate best engineering practices.

Requirements

  • A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or significant experience in an electrical design engineering environment.
  • Good technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical circuit design, and testing procedures.
  • Proficiency in the use of E-Plan or similar design software for creating electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD for creating 2D drawings.
  • Good engineering, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport.
  • Possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in the use of Siemens Teamcenter PLM software for BoM creation and management.
  • Some experience in project management or project planning.
  • Prior experience with active magnetic bearings.
