Job Summary

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is seeking a highly skilled Principal, Capability QA Lead to join its Digital Workplace team. This role is responsible for ensuring that quality is embedded throughout the Digital Workplace, forming part of the DWP Capability Leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the continuous quality improvement of standards and processes within the capability and the wider quality practice.
  • Ensure that best practice quality standards are followed by regular auditing, review of engineering activities and key quality artefacts.
  • Develop and implement testing policies, testing strategy, testing standards and procedures.
  • Manage the capability QA operational budget via effective resource management and sourcing strategy.
  • Ensure that the team successfully manages all product risks, managing any problems that arise in line with quality expectations of stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Broad IT infrastructure experience across: Hardware, Software, and public cloud.
  • Understanding of IT operations in an ITSM context (ideally ITIL qualified to at least foundation-level).
  • Broad understanding of software development principles and associated SDLC tooling.
  • Ability to provide realistic estimates on deliverables around testing and being able to justify when challenged.
  • Customer facing experience, working with the business/end users on coordination, testing, and follow-ups.
  • Strong written and spoken English with an understanding of the importance of documentation.
  • Experience working in Agile teams, using JIRA/Planner, standups, sprint planning and retrospectives.

Desirable Qualifications

  • ISTQB foundation testing certification or equivalent.
  • ITIL Foundation (V3 or above) Certification or equivalent.
  • Agile test management or Scrum Master Certification is desirable but not essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
