Job Title: Academic Educator and Practitioner

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse or nursing associate to join our team as an Academic Educator and Practitioner. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching modules on the Nursing Associate Higher Apprenticeship programme and act as an Academic Assessor to guide and support apprentices in their development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the teaching modules on the programme, ensuring that apprentices receive high-quality education and training.
  • Meet with apprentices and their Practice Assessor three times a year to support the development of their knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
  • Prepare and run academic assessor meetings with apprentices, identifying areas for development and setting out and monitoring action plans.
  • Work with the Deputy Programme Manager to ensure that all apprentices are benefiting from and engaging appropriately with clinical placements and protected learning time.

Requirements:

  • Experience in practice assessment, training, or education, with a strong grounding in healthcare from both an academic and professional perspective.
  • A thorough understanding of the requirements of the role of the Nursing Associate and the NMC standards for Nursing Associates and Supervision and Assessment in Practice.
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills, with the ability to work effectively with apprentices, Practice Assessors, and other stakeholders.
