Job Overview
Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic nurse to lead a team of nurses and healthcare assistants, promoting high standards of nursing care and contributing to the overall improvement of patient care.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead a team of nurses and healthcare assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Assist in the coordination of patient flow within the Emergency Department, working closely with other departments to ensure efficient care delivery.
- Supervise junior qualified staff, emergency department assistants, and student nurses, providing mentorship and training to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Manage the ward environment and nursing team, ensuring a safe and supportive working environment.
- Contribute to quality improvement projects, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to drive positive change and enhance patient care.
Requirements
- Registered Adult Nurse with relevant Emergency Department experience.
- Intravenous accreditation, mentorship course, and specialist ED Course.
- ILS/ALS/APLS or equivalent, BSc Nursing or working towards, and Advanced Trauma Nursing Course.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicate effectively at all levels, and demonstrate leadership skills.
