Senior Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Midlands / HS2 team in Long Itchington, Warwickshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Construction or Civil Engineering and experience in managing engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health, Safety & Environment:
    • Develop and implement RAMS and TBS, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
    • Contribute to achieving Galldris Safety Targets and promote a culture of zero tolerance for unsafe working practices.
    • Establish and maintain site systems and controls consistent with Galldris company standards and project requirements.
    • Review and approve permits issued by the Principal Contractor, ensuring timely receipt for works to proceed.
    • Monitor and report on site progress, identifying and rectifying issues that may impact the programme.
  • Design & Design Assurance:
    • Ensure accurate construction in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and setting out requirements.
    • Collaborate with TWC to identify temporary works requirements, produce design briefs, and communicate temporary works designs to the site team.
    • Raise Material Approval Records and procure materials in line with the programme.
    • Highlight issues and raise queries from review of drawings and specifications, and from site inspections.
  • Quality Management:
    • Develop and implement ITPs, ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements.
    • Maintain accurate QA records in accordance with ITPs and project requirements.
    • Lead on documenting, tracking, closing out, and sharing lessons learnt to avoid reoccurrence.
    • Collate information in accordance with ITPs and handover requirements.
    • Lead on readiness reviews, capturing lessons learnt and improvements.
Requirements:
  • Experience of reinforced concrete structures, heavy civils, bridges, structures, basements, tunnels, culverts, frames, tanks, formwork, and falsework systems.
  • Good knowledge of CDM regulations and temporary works.
  • Strong knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering and specification for highway works.
  • Commercially aware and experienced in working in a cost-conscious environment.
Skills:
  • Good communication, people, and team management skills.
  • Ability to speak up on HSEQ matters and lead by example.
  • Proficiency in design software, such as AutoCad, Autodesk, or Sketchup.
Qualifications:
  • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Member of Institute of Civil Engineers or working towards.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Full UK driving licence.
