Swansea Bay University Health Board is currently seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join its Nuclear Medicine team. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality imaging services using specialized equipment.

Job Summary

This is a full-time, 7-month temporary position at Band 5 level in the Nuclear Medicine department at Singleton Hospital. The successful candidate will provide technical support to the DXA service and across the full range of Nuclear Medicine Services.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will undertake and deliver imaging services for all types of patients under close supervision of technical staff. This includes providing patient support, counselling, and welfare, ensuring correct patient preparation and compliance ahead of complex procedures.

Key duties include:

  • Delivering excellent patient care while in the department
  • Implementing infection control procedures

The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a BSc in an appropriate physical, biological, or technological based discipline or equivalent vocational experience. You should also be prepared to work towards professional registration as a Clinical Technologist/Radiographer.

Experience in DXA scanning, radiopharmacy, conventional/SPECT-CT Nuclear Medicine imaging scanning, PET/CT imaging, and diagnostic CT or other radiography sub-specialty is highly desirable.
