Business Data Quality Assurance Specialist

At Chubb, good data is vital for understanding our business, customers, suppliers, and markets. To maximize the value of our data asset, we must maintain it to required standards, align it with business strategies, and enable business processes. Our Data Governance group oversees data products and squads, ensuring they meet our quality standards.

This position will support the Lead Data Steward, Data Quality Board, and Data Council as they develop and roll out data quality management across Chubb. The analyst will monitor data product squads' progress against the 5-Step Data Certification model, providing insightful analysis and reporting. They will also partner with data squads to ensure adherence to the certification process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with data product squads to ensure adherence to the 5-Step Data Certification process.
  2. Consolidate data squad DQ artefacts into central DQB records.
  3. Work with Data Analyst and Business Analyst Chapter Leads to ensure data squad DAs and BAs are up to date with the latest DQ developments.
  4. Support and contribute to the preparation of materials for various stakeholders, including the COG Data Quality Board, COG Data Council, and Data QBR.
  5. Assist in the development of a COG-wide critical data element change request controls process with Technology.
  6. Attend COG Data Quality Board meetings, record minutes, and deputise for the COG Lead Data Steward when required.
  7. Assist with the identification, onboarding, training, and BAU activities related to data domain owners and business stewards.
  8. Partner with the Global Data Organisation in the development and establishment of BAU data quality monitoring and result publishing using Informatica's IDMC and Data Market Place.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level or equivalent.
  • Insurance industry experience, understanding of terminology, processes, and practices.
  • Working in cross-functional teams and coaching.
  • Process and control reviews, redesigns, and successful implementation of changes.
  • Investigating and analysing complex data scenarios using SQL Server.
  • Using and developing models in data tools such as Alteryx or Dataiku.
  • Presentation, documentation, and MI development for different audiences.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of technology, data quality principles, data governance, and data management best practices.
  • Fluent English. Proficient Spanish would be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite - PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams, Sharepoint, Visio, and Word.
  • Analytical and inquisitive, not afraid to question and challenge, able to formulate observations and recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Successful stakeholder management experience required.
