Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locally Employed Doctor in Obstetrics to join our dynamic team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, participating in clinical audit, teaching and training junior colleagues, and maintaining our high standard of medical practice.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide labour ward on-call cover on the registrars rota as second on-call
  • Contribute to the management of the Department and share responsibility for teaching and training
  • Participate in clinical audit and research projects
  • Ensure active participation in continuing professional development (CPD)

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • MBchB/MBBS or equivalent
  • Completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training in a relevant specialty
  • Part 1 MRCOG
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council at time of appointment

Desirable Criteria

  • Part 2 MRCOG

Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Clinical experience and competence in all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Experience of making clinical decisions and managing risk

Training

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of clinical teaching and training junior colleagues

Audit & Research

Essential Criteria

  • Knowledge of Audit principles and evidence of participation in and completion of audit projects
