Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Practitioner to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our histopathology laboratory, you will play a vital role in supporting our registered Biomedical Scientists in providing a high-quality diagnostic service to our patients.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with laboratory procedures, including embedding and microtomy, and will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will work closely with our team to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory and will be expected to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory sciences, with experience in histopathology or a similar pathology environment. You will be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work precisely and accurately. Familiarity with hospital LIMS systems and experience of microtomy are desirable, but not essential.
