Economic Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Economic Analyst to join our team at Northern Powergrid. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping us shape the future of the energy industry.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret data and perform economic research to inform business decisions and policy recommendations
- Develop and maintain methodologies for quantitative and economic assessments of the energy sector
- Support Economists and the wider team in identifying policy priorities and relevant analysis
- Undertake economic modelling analysis, research, and evidence gathering
- Manage the sourcing, organisation, and processing of cost and market data
- Monitor and report on the state of the sector based on financial and sectoral data trend analysis
- Qualified to degree level in Economics, Mathematics, or related subjects
- Understanding of UK economic regulation, price reviews, and regulatory frameworks in the energy sector
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex concepts and subject matter
- Experience of preparing or evaluating business plans, including cost allowances, performance targets, incentives, and regulatory finance issues
- Previous experience working with or alongside a Distribution Network Operator
