We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Tote Operator to join our team at Central Park Greyhound Stadium.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of interpersonal skills, be personable and have excellent time management skills.
Responsibilities will include:
- Gaining and maintaining a thorough knowledge of various types of bets and minimum spends.
- Preparing to receive customers by setting up cash and betting terminals.
- Managing cash transactions following correct procedure, taking great care to ensure monies balance.
- Clarifying with customers to ensure correct bets have been placed, as bets cannot be rectified after the race.
- Operating both static terminals and hand-held terminals for table service.
- Safeguarding cash by adhering to security procedures.
- Reconciling cash by completing cash reports.
- Verifying identities to ensure no under 18s are involved in the gambling process, always being vigilant to Challenge 21 policy and recording findings according to company guidelines.
- Working within guidelines and regulations of the Gambling Commission, with particular attention to vulnerable persons and money laundering.
- Creating a positive impression and being attentive and responsive to customer needs.
- Working in a timely manner to meet race time constraints and achieve optimal betting times.
The successful Tote Operator will be able to deliver customer betting transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures and Gambling Commission regulations.
