Job Summary

Milestone Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Street Lighting LV Cable Jointer to join our team in Redbridge and Thurrock. As a key member of our Street Lighting team, you will be responsible for undertaking jointer works on UKPN network for the maintenance and repairing of street furniture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and correct manner, adhering to Milestone Infrastructure's Safety Management System.
  • Commit to the company's policy on Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality issues.
  • Accurately record all joints, cable positions, and relevant paperwork.
  • Undertake jointing work in accordance with distribution safety rules and the jointing manual.
  • Understand and implement individual tasks as per task instructions.
  • Maintain health and safety on site for operatives and the public.
  • Remove hazardous materials generated by the jointing process and keep the site clean.
  • Maintain the jointing manual with updates and safety bullets issued by the Line Manager.
  • Ensure qualifications and certificates remain current and up-to-date.
  • Clean and maintain electrical test equipment and observe calibration dates.
  • Implement risk assessments correctly for individual tasks.

Requirements

  • Be assessed and authorised by Milestone Infrastructure's Assessing Officer.
  • Hold copies of all certificates obtained.
  • Have an understanding of Utility plans.
  • Have First Aid training.
  • Have Manual Handling training.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Provide leadership to support personnel.
  • Hold a NERS Passport.
